HIGH WATER PRESSURE
What is high water pressure? It is generally considered anything above 80 lbs, in a home plumbing system. Anything higher can be damaging because water, with a strong "push" behind it, can erode or wear away many materials and cause leaking water heaters, banging water pipes, dripping taps, dishwasher and washing machine noise and breakdown, and leaking water pipes.
Also, water flowing at an excessive rate that is more then necessary to satisfy normal fixture or appliance demands becomes wasteful.
It adds to the cost of water, energy and waste water bills. We feel it is important to conserve our water resources and save cost for our Arizona home owners.
The simple solution is the use of water Pressure Reducing Valves, or Regulators. These devices are an automatic control which is in stalled at the water meter in homes to reduce the city main pressure to a lower, more functional pressure. When the water pressure is reduced, less water is used. The average savings per year per home would be between 30,000 and 40,000 gallons of water. Also, this means less damage to your homes plumbing system and fixtures. Pressure Reducing Valves are equally effective for use in commercial buildings and irrigation systems.
If you have any of the below symptoms, you might want to consider having your home’s water pressure checked by a licensed plumbing technician.
- Blown Sprinkler Heads
- Banging Pipes
- Burst Pipes
- Burst Supply Lines
- Burst Washing Machine Hoses
- Greatly Increased Maintenance Costs
- Leaking Faucets
- Leaking Fixtures
- Leaking Sprinklers
- Noisy Faucets Noisy Whistling Pipes
- Pin Holes in Copper
- Rattling Pipes
- Running Toilets
- Slab Leaks
- Vibrating Toilets
